Why I am Learning: How to Code (Week 17)

One day I want to be a professional animator and knowing how to code makes your job that much easier.

Around December of last year, I researched the best websites where I could learn to code for free (or at a reasonable and affordable price). Some great website I found included: code.org, codeacademy.com, khanacademy.org and freecodecamp.org.

The two websites I am currently using are Khan Academy and FreeCodeCamp. To be a complete beginner and have learned so much so far, I am grateful for everyone who contributed to these lessons.

Not only do I want to become a professional animation, I want to create my own websites. I really my current SquareSpace website but I definitely have changes that I want to make. However, SquareSquare can be limited with the changes that I want to make.

For example, when it comes to the pages where I have my artwork, I want my images to be viewed horizontally (not vertically like it currently is). I really like how artist Loish display’s her artwork.

Also, when it comes to the blog, I would rather have the sidebar dates on the left side instead of the right. It’s just little tweaks that I wish that I could make but can’t. Hopefully in the future I will be able to code my own website with exactly what I want.

Until then, SquareSpace is a great place to store my artwork.

JJ signing out.

Until next week.
