Finally finished the African Capoeira animation that I’ve been working on for about 4 weeks!
Everything was drawn in Procreate and thanks to the most recent update, I uploaded the GIF directly from the app. In total, from beginning to end, the animation took around 19 hours. The finished GIF can be seen below.
If you want to know more about my process, I go more in-depth in the week 12 post. Today I also uploaded the time-lapse for this animation to my Youtube.
However, what I didn’t post is how I set up my iPad when I’m drawing. I like to have my reference image on the left side and the open canvas on the right side. I took a screenshot during my drawing time to show a visual, the screenshot can be seen below.
As I said in the week 12 blog post, this has been my favorite animation to date. It took me a little longer than what I would like but I honestly don’t know how I would get faster. It takes to ink each frame, add the skin color, lighting/shadows and all the extra small details. I don’t know how to get faster but maybe I’ll figure it out in the future.
JJ signing out.
Until next time.
