Week 2: Getting my footing in Blender 2.8 (beta) continued...

Good Monday morning! I finally finished watching all 41 Blender Fundamentals videos!! It took me about two weeks from start to finish (I tried to space out 2 hours a day to watch). It took me a while to watch the videos because not only would I be watching but I would go into Blender and try my best to follow along.

My notes for the final couple of videos of Blender Fundamentals.

Like I wrote previously, the videos were really helpful but there were times I did get kind of confused. The Blender Fundamentals course was released on the Blender Cloud in June of 2018. The tutorials were done in the 2.79 version but I downloaded 2.8.

As you can see from the screenshots above, there are small differences between the two versions. I kind of wished that they had a 2.8 tutorial for absolute beginners like myself but at the same time I kind of understand why they don’t. The Blender 2.8 version, I have downloaded right now is in beta (testing phase) and the stable version will be released spring/summer 2019.

Anyhow, YouTube came to the rescue and I got to watch Surface Studio’sBlender 2.8 Crash Course.” His short 30 minute course was up-to-date with the 2.8 version and I followed along with him.

Below are different screenshots of me following along with the crash course.

Well that is it for this week.

Up next, I will be watching the “Grease Pencil Fundamentals” course on the Blender Cloud. I’m really excited to get into this because 2D animation is something I really want to learn!

JJ signing out.

Until next time.
